Santo Nino Angel Daniel Kupcho finished in 1st place on the 200 meter sprint with a personal time of 29.83 seconds and finished in 2nd place on the 100 meters sprint with a personal record 14.19 seconds at the 2016 USA Track & Field NM Games held on June 25, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. After the races were over many coaches approach him to congratulate him and to ask which school did he goes to; he was very proud to say that he goes to Santo Nino Regional Catholic in Santa Fe. Daniel runs for the newly formed Santa Fe Elite Track and Field Club that competes in the USA Track and Field circuit in the spring and summer. His coach Jonathan Brannon heard about Daniel trough the mother of another runner that saw how fast Daniel ran the 1k race at the last Angel Run in 2014. His first season has been successful improving his personal times each time. Not too based on the fact that this is the first time he formally competes in track and field. He has a great love for running as everyone knows in Santo Nino Regional School. His first step when learning to walk was running and he has been since then. His teachers always say that one day they will see him representing the USA in the Olympics. It looks like he is making progress toward that goal. Daniel not only has a great love for running but for his Catholic Faith too. On his free time you will find Daniel volunteering at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Community as a Minister of Hospitality, cleaning the church as part of the Sanctuary of Angels Ministry or helping at any other Church activities. At school is part of the Angel’s Choir. He recognizes that God has given him the gift of running and for that he is very grateful. Way to go Daniel congratulations.
